Item:143024673762Windsor caravan circa 1970s/80s. Approximately 16 feet. Before you get carried away with the potential of this fantastic retro family caravan, I need to make you aware that the van will need some repairs. Most importantly, at some stage in its life, water has entered the front right-hand corner and the rear left hand corner and damaged the floor. Two small sections of floor will need to be replaced and I would estimate the patches to be 50 cm x 50 cm. Otherwise, there is no structural damage to the caravan (we had been using the van despite this damage). There are also going to be cosmetic repairs on a van that is nearly 40 years old. If you buy this then please expect to have to do repairs and maintenance. These old Windsor caravans were built with a full aluminium frame so you will have no concerns about frame rot from water ingress. This caravan is also insulated at manufacture. The van will come with old style load-level bars and tow hitch with standard Hayman Reece size hitch. A partial internal renovation was completed over 10 years ago by qualified coachbuilder. The external paint is in very poor condition, cracked and peeling. You will see an Aussie Traveller awning attached, which will need a minor repair to the canvas (stitching coming undone in one place) and will also require new tension wires and rubber arms/mounts to be repaired. These parts are all still available through the manufacturer. There is also a full enclosed annex which is in very good condition. The small fridge works very well on gas, but appears to have had the electric switch removed at some stage, prior to our ownership, and we have never looked to have it replaced. The microwave works. This is a very rare family design with bunks above the lounge. Bunks are high enough so that an adult can sit beneath them when in the lowered position. Bunks are approx 188cm long. Seated area is quite large and will easily accommodate a family of four or five. Small double bed at the rear for adults. Gas cooktop works but is old. Gas oven has never been used by us and I would not encourage attempting to use it because I think that there is likely some corrosion in the gas inlet. IMPORTANTRoadworthy certificate will not be provided on sale. Remember, you are buying a van that is in need of some repairs. If you intend on bidding for this caravan, please make contact with me so that I can discuss delivery options. I am based in Brisbane, and can deliver the van to the winning bidder based on a fee of $1 per kilometre up to 300 km from Brisbane. Otherwise, I am happy to discuss other transport arrangements. Because I am not providing roadworthy certificate on purchase, I will not allow you to tow the caravan home, even though the caravan is still registered - I consider this a liability issue. I encourage all bidders to view the caravan prior to bidding. M: 0411 090 891.
